A Jack Dennis fly pattern born in the Rockies on the Snake River of Wyoming, the Amy's Ant exploded in popularity due to its ability to do just about everything well. Featuring two layers of foam and a bevy of legs and a buggy profile, from underneath trout can mistake this fly for stoneflies, hoppers, cicadas, and more. This fly is our go-to foam attractor pattern in just about all situations in the high country, large stillwaters, rivers, and even small creeks. It exceeds as a lead fly in a dry dropper setup and is even buoyant enough to support two smaller nymphs underneath for an ultimate rig covering all your bases.
